Arlethea Scott, a recent transplant from Indianapolis to Blacksburg, Virginia, was born in New Jersey and raised in North Carolina. She is happily married and has two brilliant children–Anna, 16, currently a freshman in college and Abram in middle school.
Arlethea holds as Master of Education Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and is a certified fitness trainer. Arlethea has worked with Student Support Services and Upward Bound for over 20 years at her alma mater, Fayetteville State University. She also served as a high school teacher for over 20 years.
Arlethea is currently working for the TRIO programs in Virginia as a Talent Search Counselor. Mrs. Scott has always considered herself to be a coach. She has served as a dance team coach, a young life coach, and a Fitness and Nutrition coach. She considers herself to be a lifelong learner and enjoys research.
Arletha’s passion and commitment to peace and reconciliation began when she first met Kizito Kalima in 2009. She had the opportunity to hear his story and was taken in by his genuine forgiveness. She has attended numerous events related to the Rwandan Genocide, the holocaust, and peace and forgiveness in general.
